I just ordered one of these kits for cleaning sensors. Do they void your warranty if you use them. Can Canon tell if you touched the sensor if you have to send it in for something?

I sent my 10D in to Canon because there were spots that wouldn't come off, even after numerous cleanings with Eclipse & PecPads. I even told them that I was unable to remove the spots. As it turned out, there were defects, either in the sensor or the high-pass filter, so they replaced them free of charge.

I use brushes I got from ebay and an air canister. Whole lot cost 10 uk pounds and no, it does not void your warranty, unless you use sandpaper!

I use this kit and it works very well. Sometimes takes 2 or 3 goes to get all the dust off. I don`t think it would void the warranty unless you scratched the sensor which i would think is impossible using the kit correctly. It`s so simple and only takes a few minutes to do.

| A soft non static brush and air work fine but you shouldnt use the compressed air from canisters as they do contain oil traces along with the propellants used and that can cause problems with the sensor |

No, you don't use air from can direct. You charge the brushes, then discharge them?
