Well, ultimatly, DPC.com didn't like my usage of adjustment layers, had find a way to use a gradient effect to adjust levels/light, but it seems it goes in the line of 'effect pixels'... So there goes my first ribbon lol.

Thanks for everyone who voted for it, i keep the ribbon in my heart ;)
Sorry for the other DQs, wonder 'why'.

It's not that DPC didn't like it...ovbously, they loved it, it just wasn't legal.
As for the other DQs, feel free to look at the very last page of the results and the DQs are listed there, with reasons.

I thought this problem had been fixed by now? I pointed it out in another thread. There is no reason for users not to be able to add a DQed image to their favourites. I guess D&L (and the third admin who vanished again) are still busy with the servers.

Yeah, they're still struggling to find the bad router.

The word "cheating" doesn't belong here. As my profile depicts, I am new here and new to this craft and as is mentioned previously in this thread, those of you with years of experience help those of us without. Cheating is a dirty word and in my opinion everyone on DPC has a genuine intent here. To make their vision seen and shared. I for one appreciate it. It gives me new ideas every day. For those of you DQ'd, your works are no less art then those in the top 10 (or the bottom 10 for that fact).

This is a great site with a great sense of community and I thank you all for welcoming newcomers like myself.

Ciao.

Indeed, Katie (NightShy) messed up her exif by saving over the original by accident. She had to shoot other things durig the week so she deleted the picture on her camera thinking her file was safe on the computer, which it normally would be but she opened it in PS and rotated it. I'm pretty sure this is what happened, either that or loading her files through Photoshop messed up the exif. It's really a shame, her shot was awesome! :-/

Sorry Katherine and Antoine - great shots.

For those of us who may also screw up our originals one way or another, can I ask for some advice.

When I open my original in Camera Raw, rotate and then make changes to the RAW file before importing it to PS, it seems that Camera RAW saves these changes to the original when it imports it to PS. Is there some way of disabling this feature so the original remains untouched?

other sites reqire the submitted photo containt the EXIF info, or you upload the original with it. The server then reads the exif to at least verify the date. This should be easy to implement as it is automated and the file size (in pixels and kb are already verified) so it should just be a simple IF statement type of thing.

For the ones who though this was a good picture and were kind enought to add it to their favorites, it is back on my portfolio and available to all for viewing. All comments are welcome and appreciated!

Thank you again for voting on my entry!
