I need a little help choosing some equipment out. I have $600 in my paypal account right now for a new camera and whatever.

I've been looking around and can't really decide what I should get. I've been looking at Olympus E-10's, and E-20's. I can also get a Rebel 300d with a lense for $540. I was also looking at Minolta 7i's.

I'm not sure if it would be better to get a more expensive camera and nothing else, or if I should get a cheaper(older) camera and some other stuff for it.

I'm not sure what I want...but I'll probably eng up getting the Canon 300D...since I've used one, and know I like it.

Any input would be helpful.

Thanks

Main consideration is which lens system you want to buy into and build up as you become more experienced.Camera bodies come and go, good lenses saty...

I stand by my 300D, with the firmware update you get lots of cool fetures like FEC, MLU etc.
But I dont know much about the Olympus cameras and from my experience the Lense is equally if not more important than the camera. After using some of the L series glass and my 50 1.4 i cant stand the kit lense any more. So if you go for the Canon be prepared to willingly spend more money than you plan to.

That's just it...I have $600 for now, until I can find a job (...or start looking for one.) Haha...I hate being a poor college student.

Anyways...I can get the Olympus E-10 for $289 or the E-20 for $399. Which would leave me some money left for memory, maybe some lighting, or a new lense.

The E-10 is only 4mp, but hey, Just want to take some cool pictures is all. I also read that it rights pictures really slow...

Arr. The Oly E-10/20 is a nice camera with the TTL viewfinder. Haven't tried the little hybrid myself, but sounds pretty neat looking at Phil's Reviews.
