Sorry, but I'm tired of irresponsible people doing stupid illegal things, and when they get caught, Hollywood comes to the rescue. Just needed to vent a little. Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

No biggie really.
Money talks - what's new.
A jury's real function is to determine who had the best lawyer.
Back to money talks... |

I could care less about Kate Moss or Sharon Stone. On the other hand, drugs should be legal for adults. |

In NY State under the Rockefeller drug laws plenty of people are being prosecuted and going to jail for illegal drugs. Most are for minor offenses and the vast majority are poor and African American. Very few are violent criminals.
On the other hand, we've become such a drug/chemical dependent society to ward off any and all pains and ailments, and psychologically to espcape our lives. Not to mention the use of alchohol. This, despite the many thousands of deaths resulting from adverse drug reactions to prescription drugs and alcohol. |

And in this, Olyuzi, I agree with you. It is sad to me that when someone experiences a mild discomfort, the first thing they do is reach for the bottle (either pills or alcohol). |

Society dictates that models be a size 4 average. The system is set up so that they make insane amounts of money as long as they stay skinny. There are very few size 4 women in the real world. And we are suprised that such pressure leads to drug abuse? As long as we purchase the products they advertise and the magazines they appear in, drug abuse and eating disorders are inevitable. Celebrities are just people with the same weaknesses as everyone else.
Although I believe cocaine is a devastating drug; I find it ironic that people idolize athletes (who use steriods under the same type of pressure), yet are more than happy to lynch Kate Moss for snorting coke. Guess what? Drug abuse is rampant among celebrities and athletes alike.
I guarantee that anyone who is really interested in changing the world can forget about Sharon Stone and Kate Moss, and look no further than their own town to find plenty of atrocities.
There's a man beating the sh*# out of his wife, a teenager using deadly drugs, a father raping his daughter, an alcoholic driving around with the potential to kill your family.
Not making excuses for Kate Moss; I just believe that her drug problem is the least of our worries. |

LOL. I don't think I'll do the "Celebrate" challenge. The worst atrocity around here has got to be the terrible images that I've been submitting lately. I'm putting myself on restriction for a while:( |

Awww, disappointing. Sometimes you can get lucky and pull off a shot you are real happy with - even at the last minute - and even if it doesn't do well in the challenge.
...now that I've derailed this thread, let me get it back on track...
Um, Kate Moss... I'll agree with those that said it's all about the money and add that Hollywood is an altogether different planet and the inhabitants often like to pretend they know what it's like to be one of the little people. ;-)
Instead of Cocaine, I can recommend an alternative apetite suppressant for Ms. Moss - send her a poster size print of this:
:)

You know, cocaine is still made by Merck and used as an anesthetic during some types of facial surgery.
Heroin was a trademark of Bayer, patented the year before aspirin.
It's all in how they're used. Can someone please explain why it's good to change your brain chemistry with Prozac but not pot? Oh yeah, drug companies can't patent pot ... |

As one who smokes Prozac, I can't answer that. ...intelligently. ...or without some paranoia. |

That's hilarious. Unfortunately, I look at this image every day, and I've gained five pounds since I took it! Is there something wrong with me?...Don't answer that;) |

My first thought:
How do you feel about Rush Limbaugh getting caught buying huge amounts of illegal drugs, and then claiming victimhood, just like the "Hollywood" types, and lowlife types, he said should rot in jail for such activities?
The right-wing media came to his rescue, and were complete hypocrites in doing so, IMO. So much for their vaunted "rule of law".
At least "Hollywood" is consistant - they have always said that what an adult does in the privacy of their own home is nobody's business but their own. |
