Hey! Thanks for that! Yes, hasn't been an easy time! My wife has her good days and her bad days so it can be tricky but I always know there are people way worse off than us!

Hi Penny...you could try Moondarra Lake as well as the lookout...especially at night. You can see the ship of the desert. But those are the obvious places. Try climbing one of the hills and looking out to the country. Also try Paroo waterhole, Poison waterhole (out of town also) and Gunpowder...there are some pretty places at Gunpowder....but don't expect any shops...LOL!!
As for our next stop....well that all depends on how much we win in lotto. LOL!!

If you go to the lookout, overlooking the stack, during a thunderstorm, you will get some fantastic lightning shots hitting around the stack. A friend of mine actually caught a shot of lightning hitting the stack! It was an amazing shot. If I were you though, I would try and contact some of the local cattle stations and get out there and get some shots of the cowboys going about their jobs. Some of those are brilliant, especially ones of the older aboriginal jackaroos. (real character shots!)
You could also try lake moondara or if you can time it right, there is a fabulous canoe race on the Gregory River. (head north out of the Isa, turn left at Burke and Wills Roadhouse..and follow through to the Gregory pub). If you want to go further up to Normanton and the gulf, you can get some superb pics along the waterfront. (just watch out for Sharks!)
