I am using the epson R800.

When i print a photo using the epson photoquicker, it turns out like i think it looks on my screen. However if i print it through photoshop, it is very dark and has a lot of red put in. I don't adjust it in photoquicker or anything, so i think photoshop adds some color profile or something but can't figure out where or how to change it.

any thoughts?

I use the Epson R1800 and only use the PS to print through. It seems to be just like the monitor shows. I don't even use the downloaded setting from the paper manufactures, just straight out of PS. No idea at all. Good luck.

I have found a huge difference in brand of paper. I've pretty much settled on the Kodak Professional Luster and again I do not use the Kodak corrections, may I should but it looks great without.

I'm having the same type of problem with my R800. My photo's look great on the sceen but when I print them out they are dark and lack the color range and definition. I though maybe it was my camera so I took the SM to Walmart and printed it from there and it looks great. I went through the manual and followed it step by step and I still get the same un-useible results.

I have an 1800 and didn't even know Epson provided printing software, I just use PS. The results are unbelievably good.

Good luck in sorting this out.

I had the same problem when I first got my R800â€Â¦ there could be a number of culprits. First, make sure your monitor is properly calibrated. Secondly, for best results, use the correct ICC profiles for the paper you are using, and also, make sure you turn off color management in the printer dialog palette. If you leave color management on you essentially apply the color profile twice, which will give you very dark prints.
