Here were the two serious photos I had to choose between:

1: & 2:

I also had two funny photos, but didn't think they would do well at all:

3: & 4:

I submitted photo number 1, but I think I may have chosen wrong. If any of you have any comments on which one you would have picked, or technical corrections on any of them, please let me know. I want to start getting better scores than 5.0xxx. It is frustrating.

Thanks.

I would have chosen #2. It's not *that* serious. Would fit well with an "I love you" theme.

#1 might appeal more in the "I'm Sorry" category. "Thinking of You" cards tend to be a bit more happy.

#3 doesn't say greeting card, to me. People need to be able to identify with images on greeting cards, and it's not "generic" enough for that....perhaps with really funny wording....but I'm not sure what that would be.

#4 is kinda scary to me.

I never really intended to submit number three or four, but after seeing so many in the store with those stupid eyes, I had to at least play around with it a little.

Definately #2.

Well, I guess I was overcome with the closeup of my son, so that is why I submitted number 1, but completely forgot the challenge itself, because number 2 is taking the lead so far. Oh well. Hopefully I can remember next time to keep focused on the challenge itself.

I agree with this, but otherwise I still think you chose the right one. Looks like I might be in the minority though.

I really thought it would score higher than it did.

Yeah, so did I. I still consider it one of my best photos, but maybe should have put it in a different challenge.

I really like your submission, I think it captures a feeling, maybe missing you better than thinking of you, but a great picture altogether. Number 2 might have scored a little better, but there's nothing in there which would make me prefer it over number 1.

As for the eyes pictures, I noticed that this picture was DQ'ed, so maybe yours would have been as well. Frankly, I don't totally understand why the picture was DQ'ed, because I think this was within limits of the rules, but that's just my personal opinion and a whole other story.

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that scores here don't mean a great deal. At least you've got a great set of photos out of this challenge.
