Ok not really a UFO, but 100 years ago it might have been thought of as one. This blimp has been flying all over town all day and coming home after a late dinner I see it still flying only all lit up. It must be close to 250 feet long if not more. Thought it looked neat, so I took a couple shots. I took this at 1600 ISO 1/60 sec @ 300 mm

It's an A-150 from American Blimp Corporation, and it's 28 feet high by 118 feet long, a relatively small blimp.

It certainly looks bigger, but I guess if it's hanging over your head it gives that illusion. Although I just checked out the Bell site and it tells a little about it, and they say it's tywice the width you gave, so I assume it's much longer yet they don't say the length, This is what I found.....

Western expansion on the horizon for Bell Canada
Bell Lightship Tour to visit 20 Alberta and B.C. communities
VANCOUVER, April 18 -- Bell Canada launched the Bell Lightship Tour, a new marketing initiative that will have Western Canadians looking to the skies from April 16 through October 10, 2005. An illuminated Bell-branded blimp, known as a lightship, will travel over 2,500 kilometres as it visits 20 cities in Alberta and B.C. as part of the company's accelerated growth plan for the West.
"Customers are Bell Canada's number one priority and we are committed to connecting with them by expanding our presence in Western Canada," said Stephen Wetmore, Group President, National Markets for Bell Canada. "The Bell Lightship Tour will elevate awareness about our innovative products and services in the West."
The Bell Lightship will spend an average of three days at each stop on the 20-week tour. Catch a glimpse of the Bell Lightship soaring above one of these communities this summer:
- Abbotsford, B.C. - Lethbridge, AB
- Calgary, AB - Lloydminster, AB
- Cranbrook, B.C. - Medicine Hat, AB
- Courtenay, B.C. - Nanaimo, B.C.
- Edmonton, AB - Penticton, B.C.
- Fort McMurray, AB - Prince George, B.C.
- Fort St. John, B.C. - Red Deer, AB
- Grande Prairie, AB - Vancouver, B.C.
- Kamloops, B.C. - Vernon, B.C.
- Kelowna, B.C. - Victoria, B.C.
Expanding its retail presence is an integral part of Bell's commitment to rapid growth in the West. Bell will increase its number of stores in Alberta and B.C. from 72 to 100, which includes launching in six new markets, by 2006.
These one-stop retail outlets offer a wide range of Bell's wireline products,
Bell Mobility wireless products and services, as well as Bell ExpressVu satellite television services.
About the Lightship
The lightship weighs approximately 6,335 pounds, stands 55 feet tall by 46 feet wide and cruises at an average speed of 47 mph. It features a state-of-the-art gyro stabilized camera for television and video photography. Fifteen crew members keep it in the air and help to bring it back down to earth. Since there are only 11 airships operating in North America, there are more astronauts than lightship pilots. With a passenger capacity of up to seven people, the Bell lightship will provide over 1,500 people with a once-in-a- lifetime aerial view of their community.
