Found a version of the GIMP that has been created to resemble Photoshop. Might be useful to any of you who are familiar with PS and were comtemplating the GIMP but didn't want to learn a new interface.

Haven't tried it myself, and I've got NO clue how to install it (you'll have to read the instructions on the webpage or ask your local guru), but I thought I'd post the link.

Nobody interested? Oh well.

I'm interested but I'm having new ibook G4 nightmares.

nightmares? sounds serious. I'd recommend not eating bananas before bedtime.

It's very serious.

Bananas ...no problem. The acid in orange juice, kills me.

Don't even mention orange juice. Ugh!

Hope you get your ibook fixed. I'd offer to help, but if you think you're having nightmares now...

Opps...

Yes I did install it... very cool, however I wouldn't notice the similarities to PS. I have only been using The Gimp to do scaling, Digital Image Pro does all I need it just doesn't have a good cubic scaler routine. I've played around in The Gimp but keep going back to DIP. I've seen some of the things it has changed in the menuing, seems clean...and the XP install was a no-brainer.

Cool. I'm glad it wasn't a screwy install. Thinking about putting it on mine, but I've just about got the 'normal' GIMP figured out...

Then you may not want to do it...

I did get used to going right to Scale and resizing the image...now it is just Image Resize which makes sense but once you get used to something...well...ewww

Stuff like USM has moved to other drop downs...

If you got The Gimp down you may not want to move over unless you are planning to go to PS in the future.
