I did a shoot today for a friend of mine. She is in training to become a yoga teacher, and wanted some shots to help promote her. She also wants to enter one in a contest for a calendar. I am very proud of these... I think they show the beauty and fluid movement of the poses.

What do you think?

i like them. however, I think the color (on the color ones :P) is a bit dull. maybe up the contrast and saturation a bit?

...

and because i was bored, i also decided ot tilt the picture a bit...

I really like the 4th and 5th ones. I think your original color is fine and natural looking. Your friend should be very happy with these.

I would enter the 4th one in the contest.

yes, the colors are very natural looking. however, if these are being used for an advertisement, you might want to add more "pop" to the images.

but obviously, this is just my humble opinion.

Actually, she has a band of X's all around her arm. She is Straight Edge..... meaning she doesn't drink, smoke, or do drugs. :)

hmm straight edges kind of scare me because at my school they beat other peeps up. but as for the shot, the blue clothing sort of clashes with the green background i think

The pictures are pretty good, I think. They show the poses fairly clearly, and the setting is interesting while also being fairly neutral. Following up on what maxj said, I also think that for a serious advertisement (if these are meant to do more than show simple competency in yoga) that studio work with a totally clean background and good clear lighting would be better. Yogo being all about form, it would be ideal to concentrate on her with no distractings and have lighting that shows her form as clearly as possible.

Thank You Damon.
I wanted to do them outdoors vs indoors to show kind of a one with nature thing. I am not sure what she is all going to do with them, but if she decides to do more with them, I will bring up studio work to her.

I like the natural background, myself, and the photos are beautifully sharp and clear. My only suggestion would be to, as has been said already, make the photos "pop" a bit more with some slight saturating and some curves adjustment. I'm biased, since I love oversaturation and higher contrast levels, though. This (curves and hue/saturation) is what I'd do, myself, but that could very well be too much for this type of serene shot. The natural ones look great too. :)
