really, I'm confused with Sony's many variations on their memory sticks. is the MS-Pro and MS-Pro Duo compatible with each other? I see they look the same in appearance. |

Duos are smaller and used on Sony phones and the PSP portable gaming unit. Some cameras can use both with a special adapter on the Duo. Cameras that use the DUO exclusively will not work with the regular memory sticks.

I think I'm going to knock myself in the head first. I was planning to ask the difference between the MS and MS-Pro, not the DUO. aargh... |

Difference between the regular MS and MS-Pro is speed. Like those Sandisk SD cards versus Sandisk Extreme II and Extreme III. |

Dont forget there's also Memory Stick Pro High Speed which transfers at 20MB/Sec which I believe is equal to the Sandisk Extreme III's performance.

so if a camera spec says it supports memory-stick Pro, then that also means I could use normal memory-sticks, right? |

The regular Memory Stick may work but the camera may be optimized for use with the memory-stick Pro. Higher shooting rates may not work because the card is to slow.
The higher the megapixels the less chance that the regular one will work too.
Some cameras require a faster card if you want to record video for instant. |

thanks. so my best bet is to get a MS-Pro for the camera.
I was thinking if I should buy the cheaper MS since I dont shoot 640x480 30fps movies! the price difference is rather huge, I might add :( |
