Also Known as Slippy Ruined DPC:The Aftermast

*removes tongue from cheek*

My membership still has that smooth baby bottom skin, so i'm handing the last free membership (1) over to someone more deserving.

So here is my criteria:

1. user cannot already have a paid membership
2. reason user does not have a paid membership is due to:
a) user is under 18 and parental unit will not purchase for them (though i do want an email from stating i'm allowed to hand one over to them should they be the user i choose)OR
b) user lives in a country that has difficulties making transactions with America. Real difficulties, not just laziness on the users part.
3. user has to have actively partcipated in the site before today (what participation is is soley up to myself and only myself)

So nominate someone, nominate yourself. Send a PM ([ edit ]..the PM will remain private) if you don't want to list your situation on the forums. Tell me why Slippy's Phase Two free membership should be in your hot little hands.

(NB: Godzilla is *not* a reason)

edit: added an "or" between 2a and 2b. You don't have to be a non american minor, one or the other will do.

Not my hands, but put in these hands:

Ennil was the first one that popped into my mind. Active with the site, Under 18 and Lives in Turkey. Plus she does good work. Like to see what she does with advanced editing.

Wow, This is a wonderful thing you have decided to do!
I thought i would nominate jessiroomy 9yo daughter for this membership. she wants to compete in the same challenges as me but i can not afford to pay for it myself. she has only entered the one challenge(apple) but i have become a member since then and havent found much time to do both the open and member challenges. she would make a wonderful reciepient for this because she is so very eager to learn and truly wants to learn with me as i learn the things myself. she sits here with me every challenge and helps me come up with ideas to photograph and then helps me process them every week. shes actually the one who got me to put a boarder on a few of my photos.:o) she hates the little (my old camera) Gsmart mini camera that i gave her when i got my Z1 and is as excited and anxious as I am for me to get my dslr(hopefully at tax time) because she will then get my Z1. I currently let her use my camera but her photos never coincide with the current challenge and If Im not doing it she wont either.

I want to second Ennil's nomination. She was also the first person I thought of who falls within the category.

just to clarify, i meant you can be a minor OR from outside america - you don't have to be both to qualify.

Oh, crap...nevermind the commie, give it to me. I'm German/Canadian.

I understood. But since she meets 2 of the criteria, she gets 2 votes from me.

Actually, she meets 3 of the criteria. Also active in the site.

A rather tactless German/Canadian. It is a bit presumptious to suppose that anyone living east of the Atlantic is a 'commie', isn't it.

Context is king, my friend...Ennil is very vocal about her communist beliefs and we've bantered back and forth about them in other threads.

Don't get me wrong, however...I'm still a tactless German/Canadian. And because my citizenship is also east of the Atlantic I know that we're not all commies.

I seem to remember looking at her profile or her on line gallery that somewhere she herself mentions being a communist. I could be wrong but this might be where thatcloudthere is getting the idea also.

I also nominate Ennil, she has a very unique style and vision and I too would love to see her in some membership challenges to see what she could do.

Hey, my first 'commie' post was hidden, I think...the one where I nominated the commie.

I wonder if I was censored. I could just be wrong...maybe I didn't hit 'post' the first time.

I was going to cast my vote for Ennil until I heard she was a commie.
...eh, what the hell. I vote for Ennil. After all, she is very talented and nobody under the age of 30 knows jack about politics anyway. :)

Add another vote for Ennil. :)

True...give my vote back to her. Communism takes some thought and commitment, not like those anarchists who just do it for the cool logo.

Ennil. What have political persuasions to do with? Che was a "commie" and I would nominate him if he were alive and an active photographer just because I found his philosophical viewpoint interesting.

Ennil is one of the best and most progressive photographers on this site. I hope to keep track of her progress over the years and look foreward to great things.

lentils two boys, Robert (puppets) and Jake (surf_king) just joined the site..it would probably help her out if you gave it to one of them... I'm sure they'd appreciate it

Why can't you give it away to a deserving American white person if they are more deserving than a non-white, non-American?

uhh? Whats skin colour got to do with it?
09/29/2005 11:08:07 PM · #23
Not all people living outside of US are coloured.
09/29/2005 11:09:11 PM · #24
Why do they have to be not from the US?

I second (or is that seventh?) that Ennil should get the membership. She was the first other person on the site, my age, that I came across.
Besides, she does great work, you should check out her DeviantArt gallery.
