It's Iceland, didn't you know that? They have all their friends come in and vote on all their images even though they don't take pictures themselves. They pay their friends well too, beer, wine, cheese, women, men, horses, ponies, you name it they will get it for you just to get that vote and get that cyber ribbon! Has nothing at all to do with talent, a good eye or nice equipment, imagination or vision, it's all in the bribe.

Oh wait, nebbermind, it's Canada, everything is Canada's fault, just ask Jacko!

You have completely ruined something beautiful that was here.
I hope you are proud of yourself. |
I am confused as to how the integrity of the site has changed due to Slippy's escapades? Surely every time someone enters a photo that is later DQ'd for failing to follow the rules is changing the integrity of the site by trying to con voters when fully aware they have cheated.
Before anyone starts on me, I am not implying that every photog who has a shot DQ'd is cheating. But there have been photos submitted that have been shown to false or deliberately modified to decieve.

Very few DQs are actually intentional. Most of the time the camera date was set incorrectly, the photographer thought it was Advanced Editing, didn't completely understand the rules, or made some similar innocent mistake. Deliberate cheaters get suspended or banned for the very purpose of maintaining the integrity of the site.

That's my point exactly, just one intentional cheater will alter the integrity of the site if their photo escapes DQ. I was trying to point out that Slippy's little game hasn't altered the integrity of the site. If that was the case, then the jokes threads that have been posted will have had a similar effect, for they have no connection to photography. Neither have rants or weather reports on hurricanes etc etc.

I say we just put a stop to all this nonsense by taking Slippy out and burning him at the stake.
That should make those who can't move on feel better and get us past this horrible ordeal. |
