Ok, I just found out that I can get PSCS2 for $269 or the full creative suite for $186 through my university. The IT guy told me that he thought they were full versions, and that even though the price was lower on the full suite it had photoshop in it. The catch is that I can't use it to make money? I am wondering how they track this and if I am not making money now does it matter? Just wondering on your thoughts of the ethics of this....

EDIT...Does anyone know if there are any differences between full and student versions that I should worry about?

Normally, the student ("educational edition) version is the complete program, and eligible for upgrades. Pricing sounds low for the suite -- I bet it's either $486, or else maybe it's a leftover CS1 package (perhaps even a better deal). I checked at the student bookstore in Berkeley, and the price for PSCS2 was $299.

Be aware that Microsoft and Adobe software requires higher levels of student "proof" than the others. You will have to jump through some documentation hurdles before they will ship.

Maybe it's an upgrade version?

Ok...well it is the full version, and it is CS2...I went and picked it up today. I had to get the serial number and everything. Since I purchased from the university and used my university account there were no questions about proof of being a student. But now I have another problem. I got everything loaded and opened up the Photoshop to start playing and was a bit overwhelmed...so I was going to use the help files to show me some basics, but when I click on my help button I get this error message that says that the help file I am wanting is for a CS2 component that I have not intstalled. But I know I installed the program because I can use the program...I just don't know what I am doing?!?! LOL

Any thoughts on this...there is no book or manual, just the software CD's.
