Just shot these the other night and was wondering if I should crop down on this image some. I liked the space at first but now I'm starting to have second thoughts. Is the turtle's out of focus skin to distracting. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

EEEOW. Could you sharpen the eyeball a little. I don't mind the area surrounding the iris being blurred, but if it is, I think the eye itself should be tack sharp. Or, crop it more. Congratulations on a truly scary picture. |

Great shot! I would try to crop a tad on the right. I feel that the spcae to the left is good and is leading me to the eye, which has great detail and color. Most of the blury part behind the eye to the right is not realy that important. You should leave some to balance it but not that much.
Just my 2 cents. |

I think refwhett is on to something. Maybe try and see how it looks if you crop some off the right, and even a touch off the top, resulting in the eye falling close to the upper right thirds intersection. That might strengthen the presentation some. It is a way cool shot :-)

Definetly agree that the right can go. I'll experiment with these suggestions as soon as I'm done with class and I'll post the change. |

Well this is way past when I posted the first time but I was finally messing around with this picture again. I cropped in and sharpened. Did I do too much or do you like the new one. Thanks for the thoughts.

I like the sharpening job, but I think it is cropped a little too much on the right IMO.
