If there is something that you really don't like about a photo during a challenge...LEAVE A COMMENT!! I need to grow from this site and I'm not getting any response from my entries! If there is something techically I need to do then tell me. Do I need a new camera, lighting, composition...TELL ME!!!

well I can't post the pic I have in a challenge. What I thought was a decent photo...is TANKING, and no one is leaving a comment why.

I was saying post a pic that was in a challenge that has ended already.
As someone (I think SJCarter) suggested before:
If anyone would like a comment on any photo in any challenge feel free to pm me the title or photo id number. I am a baghead but will be more than happy to give you an unbiased opinion of what I think of your shot.

Looking at your portfolio, I have noticed that you have a decent string of comments, on some of your photos, you have received far more comments on all of your shots then I have received on any of my shots.
I think you are getting plenty of comments.
Anyway, I will take a glance at a few of your shots, if you would take a glance at a few of mine... |

same thing's happening to me. my shot (which I was expecting to possibly break 6) is sitting at a 4.5, and I don't understand why.
no comments either

it on the challenges that I don't get the comments....yes people like the ones I get higher scores on but its the ones that tank that I don't get feedback on so that I can improve my shots.

Not sure which challenge you are disappointed in the number of comments, but generally most comments come toward the end of the voting period. If the image is running hot then you'll get comments from the beginning with many accolades - and sometimes (not as consistent as a good image) true if it's doing VERY poorly.
It's still early...hang in there. ;^)

Your average number of comments per challenge is still much higher then my own.
Personally, I wouldn't rely on the challenges themselves to help you with improving your skills so much. I use the forums, checking out other people's requests for comments, posting the images I take and have been happy with and see what people say about them.
From time to time, I also use the tutorial threads or ask a question or two about how to achieve some effect straight from the camera.
I see the challenges only as a way to push my creativity to attempt to capture scenes and setups using the skills that I have obtained through other areas of DPChallenge and other resources. |

As I said before just pm me the photo id of the title and I will give you an unbiased opinion. I do not have to vote to leave a comment and will skip voting if you wish.

Personally, I do not like to do anything for someone that yells and adds a lot of exclamation marks. After looking at your comments on some of your lower performing challenges, you have been given plenty of advice on how to improve the images. We just have to accept that sometimes there are a lot of entries to get through and it does take a while to get through them. I go through and vote first and then leave comments whenever I get the time throughout the voting period.
