I'm editing some wedding photos I took this weekend and would like to try some different effects on them. Can anyone point me to a filter (preferably free) that gives a soft, almost dreamy look to the image? I don't know of any specific examples to demonstrate, but it seems to be a common treatment.
Thanks!

Craig's Actions has several actions in the Productivity One Package to enhance portraits.

lots of great (free) actions at Action Central and at Adobe Studio Exchange.
Virtual Photographer has some very cool effects, too.

Rather than a canned action, do it manually, you'll be much more in control of the results. The basic workflow is:
- Duplicate base layer
- Gaussian blur duplicate layer, 4-8px
- Reduce opacity of blurred layer, to 30-45%
- Add layer mask to blurred layer, gently mask eyes and lips to bring sharpness back in. Use a feathered brush at reduced opacity.
You can also try two blur layers at two radii. Fart around with different radii to see what works best.

A lot of free actions here. Three that look likely are "glamor blur", "edgarian blur", and "Dave's ethereal glow"; for a rollover demo of the latter (a wedding shot no less), click here and mouse over the photo.
That "Dave's" action has a number of user-customizable steps, including the setting of a mask with a soft brush as outlined by Kirbic, I believe.
