Well I finally got my second CS2 package from Adobe. It's not that I needed two, they just charged me twice by mistake. If there are any non Canon people that couldn't take advantage of the Canon/CS2 offer, I'm willing to sell it for what it costed me + shipping. That's still alot cheaper than buying at the regular price. My VISA was charged $440 Canadian and I just want to recover that(+ the shipping). Any takers PM me. Otherwise, I'll have to surrender the serial number, sign a form saying I've destroy the product and then proceed to do just that, in order to recoup my money. FFIW, the product is still in its box and hasn't even been removed from the courier packaging.

That's a great deal for someone who is not otherwise eligible for this price! I'm sure you'll make someone happy... :-)

It works out to just under half the price of retail.

I posted this in another thread also and was accused of being opportunistic. I think they had the impression I got it for free, it's counterfeit, or I'm trying to sell something I've already activated.
Doesn't look like there's any takers here either, so I guess I'll be contacting Adobe to have the serial number taken out of circulation and destroying the disk, as per their instructions.

Too bad. I know it's good to be skeptical, but you did obtain it quite legally, it's NIB, and you aren't looking for a profit... heck, if I needed a copy and was not eligible for any other discounts, I'd be all over this.
Edit: have you tried over at the Frred Miranda site?

Whooooaaaaa, before we start destroying disks....I'm looking for a copy of Photoshop CS2.
What would the student price of this software be? Is it cheaper to wait until I'm a student and buy it or is this a better price? |

The educational price at the UC Berkeley student bookstore is $299, so I don't think you can get a better deal than this -- it looks like that's Adobe's bottom-line promo price.
The only reason to consider waiting is if you want to buy the entire Creative Suite and not just Photoshop. That also gives you Illustrator, InDesign (page-layout) and Acrobat.

Well to be perfectly honest with you, you could get it cheaper yourself (because you own a Canon) when you factor in the cost to send it to you from here. As far a student discounts, I think you may have to inquire at the school you are going to attend. I'm not sure, just guessing.

No non-Canon or non-Wacom users interested before I break out the blow torch?

Well, I appreciate you letting me know about this deal...I will have to take advantage of this, unless I find out that it's cheaper to go through the student discount. Thanks! |
