Here's a quick setup shot for the clone army picture. No, I wasn't trying to be scary with my hands, I was worried that the ice was going to fall over and break into lots of pieces...
I had originally come up with the idea of freezing a picture of Walt Disney's head in ice to play off the old myth that he had done so. But a) I didn't think a picture would stand the freezing process and b) I thought it would ultimately look like a picture frozen in ice (and thus fairly dumb).
I then came up with a frozen person picture, something I could imagine out of X-files, a show I used to love. Here is a typical outtake with myself in the ice...
It just looked freakier with a kid in the ice. here is the original before the color shift...
This challenge was lots of fun. It's nice when inspiration hits. Thanks for all the great comments. It certainly seemed I got the effect I looking for, although I'm sure it is the ugliest 4th place picture in DPC history. |
