Difference between snapshots and prof. photos?
...... both can be art. A professional is paid.

another anology might be that a serial killer likes to do it.....
a hit man, may also like to do it, but does it for money. (apologize for the hard edge) I see no other definition for professional other than payment, whatever the craft or practice. Of course you must be talkin about art, but let us not confuse professional with always being better.

My $.02...

A snap shot is a photo that only the person that took it (and maybe family and friends) really enjoy or want to look at. Photos of the kids, family vacation photos, photos of cars you've owned. To me a snap shot is a photo you took to document something.

A prof photo (probably not a good title/label) is something that has mass appeal. A photo that people with no link to what is in the photo enjoy it or want to look at.

Hi, first post.
Found on the web: ANY "PHOTOGRAPHER" WITH A CAMERA THAT MAY BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO CAPTURE SOMETHING FAR GREATER THAN HIS PRIMAL PERCEPTION COULD PERCEIVE.

Funny descriptions...and interesting, too. I LOVE the snapshots when something special and unintentional on it...
