My idea would be for some kind of "member of the week" where one person is selected by site council, mabye after taking nominations... I don't know how it would be decided exactly. (And there might need to be a number of pre-reqs like the person has entered at least so-many recent challenges, has spent time commenting on others photos, actually has a portfolio of images to share...) But the selected member would get a link to their profile on the homepage and a little extra attention would be shown to their portfolio for the week. It might get some of the newer and/or lesser-recognized but promising members a little more attention. Unless you're a regular ribbon winner, or someone who spends hours a day in the forums, it can feel a bit lonely at this site.
Just a rough idea. Open to suggestions for enhancement or completely veto it for flaws I'm missing. ;)

I agree with Ken, that person also happens to be my favourite person at DPC!
