I recently entered my photo for the bubbles challenge,
before entering it I had to downsize it using PhotoSuite 4
to meet the challenge requirements, no problems my photo looked fine,
after submitting it my photo was blurred and distorted.
Now I am having the same problem with the beverage challenge.
HELP! What am I doing wrong?

what editting software are you using?
There is a good tutorial in the Learn / tutorial section in the top blue bar menu that will help you out. |

If you're using Photoshop, this tutorial is where you need to start. If you're using anything else, you're on your own.
Just kidding, lottsa friendly folks here ready to help you out. Post what you use and what steps you're taking. Be specific and post example pics if possible. |

I am simply going to the edit option in
PhotoSuite 4 and re-sizing to meet size
requirements for the challenge. example original size is:
2,387,877 bytes, w 2048 x h 3072 pixels,
re-sized for challenge is:
25,342 bytes, w 427 x h 640 pixels

The problem is that the file is too highly compressed, at 25kB it will look quite bad if there is any amount of detail present. You need to try to maintain near the 150kB allowed file size, while keeping the pixel dimensions as you have them. That is possible by increasing the "quality" setting when you save.

Your biggest problem may be the 25k file you ended up with - get it as close to 150k as you can - you will get a much better image.
How to do that is covered in the tutorial already mentioned. |

I've never heard of PhotoSuite. Can you take a nonchallenge image, resize it and post? |

I tried the quality setting and again it was fine in my file, then when I submit to the challenge and can view my photo it makes it blurry. I also went to th tutorial and the only one I did see is to upsize your photo in Photoshop. |
