Upload at quality 10 instead of 12. They've written a treatise somewhere about how the difference in file size makes no difference in output. My prints certainly prove that out.
For events, I use the image processor in CS2 (File/Scripts/Image Processor) to batch drop the file size in the proof galleries to either 800 or 1000 on the long side, unsharp mask, change to sRGB and use an "orders" gallery for the same event for the print prepped uploads. I take it you sell straight out of the camera?

yes so far...i am new to the online thing. I have ps and can do a little with it...but I am trying to learn how to do the batch things you mentioned. If it is this slow..I dont know how I can do it. I am not sure how to do the upload quality thing you mentioned. |

when you save the file in your image processor (photoshop or whatever) as a JPEG, it asks what quality level. In PS it's up to 12, or in your program it might be expressed as a percentage. Smugmug's research has shown no discernible difference between a 10 quality and a 12, yet the file size is often half for the 10. So the upload goes a ton faster.
