What does "photogs" mean?

I have been beating my head on my desk wondering what this means as
I feel like I'm one those pre-pubic kids asking a question about a sexual nickname. Stupid for not knowing. :)

I hear ya....you end up writing more about what you wrote with acronym and having to explain what you wrote with a acronym...just as confusing as this sentence I just wrote about using acronyms...:)

Photog = A rare breed, but growing in numbers in modern times. A funny creature really. Quite often seen with various types of boxlike electronic contraptions seemingly attached to their faces, pointing at everything from sometimes very odd positions. Usually quite vocal, although unintelligible mutterings about composition, subject, lenses, and other stuff of no meaning except to others of the same species. An interesting side note: if you take a 'photog' to lunch, be prepared to pay the bill, for normally their wallet is empty due to spending all available funds on cameras, lenses and other 'photog' paraphenalia.

Acronyms are, indeed, overrated and overused, but "photog" ain't one :-) An acronym is created out of the first letters of a series of words )DEA = Drug Enforcement Agency, for example) ΓΆ€” "Photog" is an abbreviation.

Then you get the subgroups like:

Lesser spotted Photog: Same as photog, but often, for reasons unknown, stops mid-shoot at regular intervals to open his/her box and insert strange rolls of "film" into said boxlike device.

I prefer the term 'tog' rather than 'photographer', but you only see it on certain websites.

Airport designations are usually made up of some key letters from the city/airport name, such as San Francisco. For some reason, many women have a reluctance to fly into the Fresno Air Terminal.

I thought "photogs" were the clothes you wear when eating that sloppy Vietnamese noodle soup ...
