I'm almost back up over a 6. The image would of definitely scored higher in an advanced editing challenge. I had to sacrifice to keep detail in my whites, so the image is a little darker than I would of liked.

Managed to comment on 56% of thirds so far, very impressed by the quality!
Couldn't moan about no comments if not prepared to comment myself!
Going to try to comment on 100%, housework and husband permitting!

Well thanks Pauline!
Kinda inspires me to comment on more of the pictures. Maybe I should just work on commenting on all my 5's, since those are the most likely to be sitting around un-commented themselves (assuming I score like others do of course)

Go for it!
I am trying to be contructive in my comments and not just give a very short, "nice' or "cute" but it is difficult with some! still I'll do as many as I can in this challenge but don't promise to tackle the others.

Some voters have the opinion that all photographs must be titled and be relavent (at least in their minds) to the picture; if "they" can't see the relavance, then it must not be so; they don't feel that the title can be abstract in any way or of a personal nature to the photographer. And some don't even look at titles. I personally don't go overboard on judging pictures based on their titles but like most can be biased one way or another at times, depending on the situation.

Have now commented on 251 (71%) of images.
If you haven't got one yet - it's coming!!!
I hope my comments don't upset anyone - remember I'm a rank amateur so can only try to be helpful!
And the titles are not playing any part in my voting unless they are particularly brilliant and then the pic gets 1 extra mark!

Oh well, I can't complain about my score, as I've just been informed that my photo does not follow the rule of thirds, and DNMC!

I think this is one of the best shots I've made so far, but not everyone seems to agree :-)
And I've just sent my first ever PM regarding a comment I received. Not to argue about the commentor's opinion, but to find out why it didn't meet the challenge.

OK I've done it!!
Commented and voted on 100% of Thirds challenge! Hope people do not take offfence at any thing I have written.
Will go back tomorrow and just readjust votes in some cases.
Must go and adjust my own entry for Greeting card!

I just bumped my top 8 to 9's. Have never given a 10 (nor a 1 or a 2). Never before have I given so many 9's.

I agree. I gave out more 8 and 9 scores on this challenge than any other, and the fewest scores below 5. This was a remarkable effort by all. :-) |
