PLANET-DISSOLVING DUST CLOUD IS HEADED TOWARD EARTH!
Scared-stiff astronomers have detected a mysterious mass they've dubbed a "chaos cloud" that dissolves everything in its path, including comets, asteroids, planets and entire stars -- and it's headed directly toward Earth!
Discovered April 6 by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory, the swirling, 10 million-mile- wide cosmic dust cloud has been likened to an "acid nebula" and is hurtling toward us at close to the speed of light -- making its estimated time of arrival 9:15 a.m. EDT on June 1, 2014. |

No sense worrying about it. Can't hide from it, can't survive it, so may as well party hard for the next 9 years.
(yeah I know it's a hoax though)
Now's where my "substance" connection I had back in the good old days...

well, if so....then why worry.....there's nothing that we can do about it. WAIT...we can send a few great oil drillers to save our planet....does anyone have Bruce Willis's cell number?

you know as funny as it is to think this concept has been glorified many times in Hollywood - I took an Astronomy and Q. Mechanics class last semester that discussed this topic. We also discussed a comit that circles every 7-9 uears and by probability alone, one day we won't be as lucky as we have been the last 1.2 billion years. Our time here has been very lucky and perhaps "chaos clouds" and "comits" should be factual reminders that there are greater forces beyond our control that can wipe us clean..... now, where is my wine so I can ponder depressingly (oh wait, the point here is to be thankful).

I just take it one day at a time. If the world came to an end why would I want to be the only survivor? For one my hand would get tired. ;-)

Since 3/4 of you, inhabitants of the Earth, will die in the fall of 2012, it is those of us that will be left that have to worry about it. At least our suffering without electricity and imported vodka won't last long.

Here is an interesting question:
If the acid dust cloud was hurtling towards earth at just under the speed of light, how long before it hit us could we see it?

Somehow, I think that if something is travelling towards us at the speed of light, no-one would see it, let alone astronomers, until it hit us
Another hoax I think |
