Ok I'm sure that this has been explored to some extent elsewhere, but I'm new here and I'm going to use up one of my "ignorance cards" on this.

Simple question maybe, should I upgrade from PSE2 to PSE3, I'm pretty new to Digital Photography and Digital Manipulation and I am still learning PSE2 and are the differences between the two versions worth it.

Thanks in advance all.

I would say that if you have to ask whether the new features are useful, you probably don't need them.

I'd suggest learning the version you have more thoroughly and using it more extensively -- that way you'll know the limitations (if any) of the current version, and be able to decide how much more (if any) processing power you need to accompliush your goals.

By that time, you'll know if you can "get by" with PSE 4 or need to upgrade to the full-featured version of Photoshop.

For reference, I mostly still use Photoshop 5, although I have the latest version (CS2 or v.9) available at work.

I believe that PSE3 can handle RAW files.

I'd reccommend you stay with PSE2 and get this book: The Hidden Power of Photoshop Elements 2

Although PSE3 has some new features, I think that some of the old "hidden" capabilities of 2 have been locked up tight.

Thanks for the feedback, I think I'll stick with what I've got then. And use the dollars saved to get that book (looks interesting coolhar)
