Well I am making an Online photography Contest Site ( for my final year engineering project) using ASP.NET with C#....
The site i am gonna make is inspired by DPchallenge but on a very small scale and is purely for my project I wont host it on the web....so i want to know how to go about handling the Image database...I know how to store textual info in a database but am clueless about uploading Images....Please tell me what method is used on DP challenge.
Also The site i will make will have an administrator....so what all tasks do the adminitrators of DP challenge face please do let me know.

I'd recommend using a BLOB field in SQL Server if you're doing this in C#. A quick search uncovered this link (I'm sure you can find many more):

1. Don't use innodb.
2. Check for faulty routers.
