Voters have to realize that subtle use of the 1/3's rule is the most effective in practice. If it's in your face obvious that elements have been moved around in attempts to ballance the shot, often times it may appear to be overdone. The rule was intended to help create a pleasing image for the average viewer not the measurebator who carries a pocket tape to galleries to check to see if the rule has been adhered to exactly. This is not a rant BTW, my image isn't doing all too bad.

I know mine is exactly with the rule cause I measured it! fallen from a 6.5 this morning....and not a single comment to tell me why my photo is falling so fast!

One of the features of my camera is dividing the screen into a grid so shooting thirds was easy to do.

Got a comment that it was too dark, they must not of noticed the fact I kept a full tonal range between white and dark...LOL!
