When I go through the save for web dialogue in CS2, all of my EXIF data is removed from the photo. Is this right? - Or do have some settings somewhere not setup correctly?
I generally use 'save for web' to resize and optimize to file size.
If this is right, my next question is, will this cause a potential DQ situation? |

You should always keep your original file untouched. You can still save for web to resize then also create a save as file at full size but then simply don't save the changes if you are working on the original.

I'm doing that. I mostly shoot in RAW anyway. What I was concerned about was not having the EXIF info in the photo I am submitting. |

No they don't care about the image you are submitting other then size. If you are asked for proof you need to submit the original and if you don't have that original good chance you will be DQ. |

When its optimized to file size it strips out all the data it doesnt think it needs, especially in the header of the file where all the EXIF is... I think! I dont think anybodys photos contain the EXIF when they submitt, as long as you keep the orginal everything will be fine! |

You don't want EXIF data in your submitted photo. You want to be able to use all 150K for pixels, color, and impact. |

Even if there is EXIF data in a submitted photo, it is stripped out when loaded ot the site. As strangeghost posted, you don't want it there for a challenge submissionn, it's just taking up space you could be using for image data.
The "save for web" feature in PS can automatically optimize for a certain file size. I usually set it for 149k, and let it do the rest.
