The Destination Challenge is unique in the depth of self that is being asked to be shared. I find myself feeling trepidation about sharing an image that shows so much of my heart, especially the tender feelings of my most cherished hopes and dreams. The very nature of this challenge is personal and touches very close to my heart. I'm sharing it in order to let the caring see my deepest desires - at least a piece.

Because others may feel this same way, I'm asking that we are especially sensitive in our comments. Comment on the photographic merits as you see fit. Be gentle on the dreams/fears the images represent. Thanks in advance.

Good luck.

It is the role of an Artist to expose themselves to the world.

The comments, as pain are real. They as observers are not.

Critics are the lice of art. They have no value, except to the medical proffesion...... Which suggests they be killed.

Thanks Skip - I'll put that jumpsuit on at the stroke of midnight. I already made the choice to let the comments fly right on by. Say what you want about my photos - you're fine. Bash my beliefs - lightning bolts could fly. :-)

This is very true. I would also like to see no one saying "does not meet the challenge" comment. Every image is how the photographer views the topic description, so destination can mean anything to anyone.

Eeek...after seeing the intensity and honesty of the thread I feel my entry is completely off target, and I ponder withdrawing it.....

85% of the pictures are going to be of grave stones or cemetary shots I bet. It will be nice to see something a bit more original that has emotion in it.

Tammer, don't withdraw. You've just added balance.

MPemberton - I've been dealing with lice issues for the past two weeks at my school. You've chosen an apt symbol.

Thanks rjkstesch...I'll balance the bottom of the DPC entries and you can balance the top :-)

Yes indeed, in the past ones beliefs did stir controvery and Becky has spoken well. Many challenges do relate to things that are very personal, sometimes we do not feel this closeness when voting. We all need to be more concerned on the photograph and it's merits and not on beliefs and personal ideals. After all .... everyone knows that Ford trucks are the only real man trucks ... Chevy's and Dodges are for girlie guys and Toyota's are for pansies ;)

I'm revving my Tundra's engine. LOL

And I've got my Dodge spitting fire. :-) Does that make me a girlie guy? Becky
