Been pretty busy lately, I didn't even have a chance to enter anything in the conspiracy challenge, and what's worse, I think the wife has packed up & lost the fluid for my fog machine & I haven't even tried it out yet.
We put an offer in on a house a couple blocks away from ours, conditional on the sale of ours. Now our house is so nice & tidy I don't want to move anymore. Anybody want to move to Burlington, we'd be right in the same neighborhood! :-D
-edit.... took off the photos I originally had in this post & replaced with the one-page collage Imade to put on the back of the feature sheet.

Geez, you can't even touch a house for that price here in California :( My condo alone is about that much when I bought it :( Time to move out to South Dakota or somewhere remote...

Make sure to take lots of beautiful pics of the inside and post it on Craigslist every day for a couple weeks. This is how I sold our condo, worked like a charm... and no realtor's fees!

Thanks folks. Hmm, if I move to Iceland will I be guaranteed a ribbon? Hopefully we'll be market-ready on Tuesday.
Our realtors are my mother & father-in-law, which makes it much less stressful for me, plus, they give us back their commission. :-)

Is that Marriage, or the Wedding itself that's stressful? |

It is amazing to me the price differnce with homes across the world. I live in rural TN and I have never seen a home cost over $200,000--that includes farm land. My house is small. Only 1300 square feet with 1.5 acers and I only paid $38,000. My house payment is only $280 per month. My taxes are only $350 a year. I think I spelled acers wrong. Oh, I am a hick it doesn't matter.

And just over the state line in Western North Carolina, this exact description would go for no less than 150,000. Go figure.
At one point about 8 years ago, the land and houses/condos/etc in my area were more than the Atlanta area.

Well homes in Nashville are pretty pricey but not where I live. It usually takes two years to even sell a home. |

wow -- $38,000 for a 1300 square foot house on 1 1/2 acres --- WOW! Here in southern Oregon that wouldn't even buy a storage unit! I think we should sell out and retire to wherever you are Mandy!

Hmm - Our flat is 850 sq ft and comes with no land (not even a foot of garden). In fact, we don't even own the land it is on (we have a 100 year lease). Price: £250k ($450k). We live in a cheap area of London.
Is rural Tennessee any good for jobs/transport??

I just bought a 2100 sqft on 1 acre of land for 35,000 USD. This weekend was the first weeked I stayed in it. It is located in Dierks Arkansas. Wich is a small little town with a population of 1230. It is conviniently located between about 6 lakes. So I say bring on the water/landscape challenges. |

Not sure on the conversion ratios to US$, but about a year ago, I bought a 3 bedroom 1st floor flat in Glasgow, Scotland for £80k, and my brother bought a 2 bedroom 1st floor flat on the south coast for £150k.
Amazing.... |
