I'm not real pleased with the score my High Contrast entry, Canal Street, earned but this thread isn't to complain about that. I just wanted to post the original as I think many of the voters were at a loss to understand it. Thanks to those who commented, hope this answers some of your questions.
There was a request for DQ on the first day of voting and it was validated (thanks SC for the quick decision). It was at 3.6, and then starting steadily improving after the "validated" note was attached. So at least I enjoyed seeing it's score come back from brown ribbon territory. Maybe it would have fared better in an Illusions challenge.

I admittedly was one of those "fooled" viewers. I liked the shot, but couldn't quite tell if it was miniature or not. Thanks for posting the original. I saw it and said "oh wow - so THAT'S what it is." :-)

Had I voted on this, it might have been a 6 from me - I don't think it's all that "High Contrast".
Aside from that particular challenge, however, I love your processing, especially that very clever crop.

I admit to not having given it a very good score due to the challenge that it was entered into... but otherwise, I thought it was pretty cool. And like it even more now that I've seen the original and understand what I was really looking at. Very clever indeed! :-)

| I saw that it was mostly a mural, and voted it a 5. It wasn't overly qualified to that particular challenge, and it felt a little opportunistic. Otherwise it was a nice shot. |

| Thats okay, I gave it a 5, which is my lowest score in general. It did not seem real to me. |

Thanks to all who viewed, commented, and fav'ed this shot. The low score doesn't bother me as much now, lol. :)
