I speak Strine!! :-)

That may be a good idea, having the language indicated, then others may not be as likely to misread one's post...if it is not in their native language perhaps?

a flag would be nice.. the Icelandic flag would be a nice addition to the ribbons some of us win.. so when a callenge result comes then everyone knows where the ribbon went < sarcastic grin>

Icelandic is not my 1st language,it's my only language. english is not a language that I speak, even though I can, it's just not spoken here in iceland, but neither is swedish, danish, polish, or jibberish but I speak those languages to.

This might prove a tad problematic for some canadians.... as you well know... not all canadians have english as a first language.

Just a thought

The Swiss flag might yield less-than-specific info as well ... assuming anyone recognized it.

I'm going to shout so be ready (since I started this I think I'm entitled!:))

THIS IS ABOUT LANGUAGE NOT NATIONALITY! FLAGS WILL LOOK GOOD BUT THEY DON'T TELL YOU IF ENGLISH IS THE PERSON'S FIRST LANGUAGE WHICH IS WHAT I THINK IS THE IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO GET ACROSS!

Please please please can we consider this as I think it is causing problems on the site with misunderstanding.

Flags as well may be a good idea but ....

wel we could use flags as a marker for which country/language we have
maybe like
country: flag
language: flag

Allright, i have it figured out :)

Until DPC does this themselves and lets us put a flag, or name of our language by our user name and camera, we can put a little flag in our signature, perhaps somewhat like what i have done.

If you want to put a language flag in your signature just put this line there

Language: [stuff] //homepage.usask.ca/~tdo922/flags/uk.ico [/stuff]

then exchange stuff with URL and /stuff with /URL
producing this
Language:
you can choose any flag you want by changing the uk to your country or language preferance, so for example canada flag and language (meaning english - sorry for you french folks) would be

Language:

i forgot to mention that i got the thumbnails from this site
//www.clickfire.com/content/graphics/favicons/flags_icons.php

but feel free to hotlink your little flag from the site i posted in my last thread... they were all free to use from that site, so i just put them all in the flags directory on my site.

This is a good site, well done leaf! Everyone who wishes can downlaod their nationality ANDTHE FLAG OF FIRST LANGUAGE into their signature if they wish.

Thanks again

So, how does one go about putting two flags next to language? An American & German for example...
