I've calculated that I will get my Blue Ribbon on August 23, 2007, so mark that day in your PDA's.

Based on the 30 challenges I've entered so far, the linear regression trendline says so.



When will you get your Blue Ribbon?

It would be fun if some programming genious could write a little Web applet to do this calculation. What a fun stat to add to our Profile page under Avg Vote Received.

what's that saying about "lies, damn lies, and statistics"!.... :) Hey slippy, fingers crossed for a ribbon for ya well before '07.

I'm on a downward spiral. I'll get the brown someday soon. :D

He at least already has a yellow ribbon. I would be happy with anything at this point.

Your problem is that you were too good to start. :-( I think you need some motivation to turn yourself around. That's why I have kidnapped your pet hamster and have set up an intricate, computer-controlled system. This system will read your scores from DPC and lower or raise the cage it's in, hanging just above a pool of ravenous piranhas.

I hate to butt in here but you forgot to mention that the correlation coefficient of your trend line is less than optomistic (r2 = 0.006). Viewing as a scatter chart reveals no correlation at all and quite a nice shot-gun pattern. In other words there is no relationship between more challenges and a higher score. Although the trend line resulting from simple linear egression implies an upward trend it is not trustworthy. NOW THE GOOD NEWS - since there is such a prenounced shot-gun pattern and you have quite a range of results I would say that you have a great chance of hitting that blue ribbon well before 2007!!!!!

This tc dude got a 6 on his second challenge. All our chances of ribboning will go up if we put him in the cage with the hamster and penguin. Put Brad in ther too! :o ;)

my scores go from 6.9's to 4.2's, so no telling when i will.

the graph would look like a mountain range.

LMAO That is hilarious! If your next couple of results are extremes to either side of the trend line and yet still balance, there's a good chance that one of them might peak high enough to net you a blue. This will become more and more likely as that line draws closer to the 100 percentile. Good luck, man. I will be trying my hardest to deny you of the blue every step of the way ;)
