Can anybody post a link to a good freely downloadable photo editing software ? I have run out of the trial period of my try-out photoshop and do not want to buy a full version right now!!
I have Picasa2 but it is not that effective, so please help !!! |

The GIMP.
The best free photo editor around. I prefer the interface of Paint shop pro, but the GIMP is still almost as powerful as photoshop(though slower) but it can be a little tricky to use.

Actually, the GIMP is potentially more powerful than PS, at least IMO. The learning curve is a lot steeper though. Also, be prepared for a few crashes... at least in my experience... hwr not enough to steal the thunder from an awesome piece of software. |

You may want to try PhotoFiltre.
I haven't used it but a couple of friends like it. There are English and French language versions.
