I usually quote the parts I am referring to.

Actually, those are very good points IMO. Maybe a website suggestion to automatically remove thumbs from quotes may be in order.

I agree with you that quoting whole posts isn't helpful and makes threads lose their structure. However, you needn't fear that this would slow down anything, the images have to be loaded just once, they go to the cache and are (re)read from there.

I originally had this in the General Discussion thread and then figured someone would turn it into a rant so I moved it before someone else had to.

Just wondering why people do this so much? And those of you that do, do you ever look at how many times the thread has been viewed BEFORE you bump?

Really just curious. For example, a thread recently bumped 2x was viewed hundreds of times before the bumps. If it has been viewed this many times without responses, why do you think bumping it up will produce something else?

Do people ever look at the community page where all the threads active in the last 24 hours are listed? Why is it so important to see it on the front page? Everyone has this set differently so what is your front page with listed threads is not the same as the next persons.

And quoting in threads...when someone posts a whole host of pics or paragraphs of text, why do people quote, repeatedly, the whole mess instead of just quoting the relevant part? Do we need to see the same 5 pics over and over in a thread? Or do we need to see the same 5 paragraphs of text over and over? Doesn't this waste bandwidth? I would think so when people are loading, reading and rereading threads. Slows the load times down as well.

Really just curious about these things.

I don't know what you're talking about.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That's what I thought!
