well, it's not russian that they speak in the ukraine. it is the ukrainian language. just to make it clear.

Ukrainian is no more a Russian dialect than Portuguese would be a Spanish dialect. Its a language in its own rights, as it should be, since there are about 40 million people who speak it.
But they're related and close, that's true.
Anyway, I can understand and speak Russian, so perhaps I can help a little.

PM me, if you need my help: tarmo.amer@starman.ee

Ok it's a Russian dialect not to much different from Russian. Almost similar. Like also some Moldova people think they speak Moldavian, but they actaly speak Romanian.

It's not a dialect, forgodsake. Just the same as Romanian is not a dialect.

Funny then how come a Russian translator translated lisa-s text without any problem, and without missing one single word except the guy's name?

Then it was Russian, not Ukrainian.
If you know Russian, then without extra learning you will understand about 30% of Ukrainian and if you have talent for languages then you may guess an extra 20% but that's all.

Ukrainian is one of the East Slavic languages, the other two being Belarusian and Russian. Written Ukrainian resembles the other two, but with several notable differences.

The Ukrainian spoken in the Western parts of Ukraine is actually linguistically closer to Polish than to Russian.
