I decided this wasn't contrasty enough to enter (or that DPCers wouldn't think so at least) but I'd still love some comments / critiques.

I would have scored this around 7, your entry got 5 from me.

Interesting how different people perceive things. :) I see way more contrast in my entry than this shot (both light/shadow and colour contrast) but, yeah, my profile page portrait's pretty contrasty. :)

Your red hair is sweet.
I like your outtake too, though. Self portraits are fun, you can pose up your vision, ya know?

Thanks! I tried for ten-ish years to get just that shade, and it was fun for a change. :) I have black now; I missed having dark hair.

I had red tips in my hair once, it fades out too fast. :-)

Yeah, red's the fastest fading shade. Colour Pulse works pretty well - lasts longer than I expected. I would've kept it up if I didn't mind keeping up with dark roots, but I hate damaging my hair with lightening :)
