Probably...according to one SC that has PM'ed me they "Stick together" and I will be glad to post the original message if any SC member wants to try and dispute that. |
I must have missed the invitation to the Site Council Cult cause no one sends me an xmas card or holds my hair for me when I vomit. Trust me...there's more bickering in the site council forums than there is out here. Hell..we've locked our OWN threads.
It's funny how people think we 'all get along'. Whatever.
P.S. Destinations does seem like a difficult challenge that I am not talented enough to participate in, so I will be sitting this one out.

But I could have sworn this said "take a picture of a trombone..etc".
I couldn't for the life of me figure out what that would have to do with a destination.. and then I was even more perplexed when another response said that was the first thing they thought of..

I would just like to add to this childish name calling thread, that I think this topic "Destinations" is one of the best challenge topics I have seen here for a long time.
Maybe it's because I have been away for awhile but this topic really let's you be creative. The challenge description actually ask you to explore and express yourself as no other challenge has.
Time for a big group hug (that includes you naughty little SC members)
Now go out and be CREATIVE

Flaming a contest topic is pretty childish, especially when combined with sneakily pushing your own agenda... even for you Alienyst ;)
I agree with keegbow, i think it's a very interesting topic that is sure to bring out some amazing creativity.

For what it's worth, re: alienyst's query "how can you take an image of a place you have not been?", there's nothing in the concept "destination" that precludes having been there before. When I was a kid we spent 2 weeks at Christmas, every Christmas, at the same cabin at Mammoth Mountain. But every year, when we left San Diego on our journey, the "destination" was this cabin.
Also this challenge seems to be wide open to other-than-physical destinations: A destination may be a goal, or it may be something we fight against but gravitate towards.
For a Zen Buddhist, to offer just one example, a state of Nirvana (The deathless; the cessation of all suffering. The very opposite of the Wheel of Birth-and-Death; it is what those in the Buddhist tradition aspire to experience. The Absolute, which transcends designation and mundane characterization.) might be a "destination" in terms of this challenge.
How to shoot it? Ay, there's the rub... Happy hunting, people!

So let me get this straight without trying to get this thread off topic. Many people feel that there is some funny business with some/all of the SC and all threads relating to this are lock, blocked, banned, shunned etc. and you have basically a customer that you can't make happy so the logic is to mock him or make fun of him??? I personally like this challenge but lately with the stuff I've seen going on it's doubtful I will renew with DPC. Funny thing is the only reason I originally joined was to support a site which I liked. I know there's nothing SC can do to make whatever happened better in his mind I just think its wrong to do it in the forums on all parties involved.
As for challenge I need to go steal a backhoe and dig a grave and shoot it from the inside out. This way nobody can say I'm thinking inside OR outside the box.

If I had half the talent you did then I probably wouldn't be reading the forums. Nice profile. I think you'd do well in this challenge if you just opened your mind (reference to your static ball- nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more, know what I mean???).
