We see people everyday who are cute and are beautiful people. You give them a label: AUTISM, then their world falls apart. Parents no longer want their child to play with them. Schools, will not let them in, no matter how functional. Even if funding is there, they will not make the calls to get an assistant. As parents you have to fight for them to even have a chance.

Last night, he was crying when I was reading his bed time story, he is only 4 years old, soon to be five next month.

I asked what was wrong, he was crying so hard.

He said, "No one will help me. I want to die."

That hurt so much.

I just held him until he fell asleep.

PS I just had to say something some where.

Michael that is nothing less than hearbreaking. We want to protect our children from as much pain and hurt as we can. When a young child says something like this it shows how sick the world has become.

I don't know what else to say...

Hi Micheal, less than a year ago my brother-in-law and his wife found out their daughter Ansley (she's almost 3 now) had a form of autism. It's been a learning experience for the whole family and I know it was hard on them at first but things are getting better now that we've all adjusted. She is such a sweetheart and our kids just love playing together. I'm so sorry your son is feeling so sad about his situation, children should not have to worry about such things. They just need to spend all their time being happy and carefree, if this was a perfect world. Just shower him with lots of love to maybe make up for those that don't quite understand. Thank you for sharing your story.
