It could mean that some spammer has your email address and is using it to get past any block you may have set up for anti spam. Aren't spammers thoughtful...

yeh

theres a little reverse script thing that makes spam appear to come from your own address so it gets through a spam filter.
If you look at the source code you will see this script and where the email actually came from.

There do the same thing with places like paypal to tricck people into giving out passwords. Its called Phishing.

alright, if its only a script directed at me thats fine.

i was worried my e-mail was being spoofed and people where recieving SPAM from my e-mail.

thanks for the quick responses!

That's nothing to be overly concerned about. There is no security associated with the "from" address on an email message, and, indeed, you can program your mail client to make that "from" address anything you want.

Think of it like the return address on a piece of postal mail. The post office does not do any type of validity checking on that address. Conceivably, I could write a letter, put your return address on the envelope, and mail it. The post office would deliver it, and at first glance, the recipient would think it came from you. Email is no different in that regard.

double click or right click the message header (where it shows who sent it). If right clicking there should be a menu item for showing full headers.

View > Options worked for me, it lets me view the original headers.

Thank everyone for the help!
