Taken at a couple of my Son's games this week (he is the keeper).
I'm a bit frustrated with photos taken near the goal - the autofocus seems to always get tricked by the net. Short of switching to manual, anybody have any tips on achieving better focus around the goal?
Thanks. |

Don't know the specifics of your camrea, but most have a center or spot focus selection, might try that if you have it.

im goin through my 750 photos of the fighting illini football game today, about 100 or more are out of focus, sometimes the cam just gets tricked. i used a d1h too which has a pretty fast focussing system. i dont think it does but if your cam has a continuous af button (would be near af lock) then hold that in for tracking moving subjects. |

Can you prefocus manually? |

The referee's stripped shirts in football or basketball can occasionally "trick" the auto-focus on my 20D, even when I have only the center focus point selected and it is not on the stripes. Guess that ultra-high contrast is very seductive.
