| Tomorrow I've opportunity to photograph police dogs. Some unlucky target man is trying to escape german sheppards. Any tips? What camera setup should I use (Focusing etc.). When dog is running should I follow the target or keep camera steady? |

Since the situation will probably be set up you'll know the path the dogs will be taking so you'll be able to pre-focus on a spot you know the dogs/target will be.

| Boost ISO, open the lens, set auto focus to continuous, set metering to center-weighted or spot, set to continuous frames and shoot at least 3 frames each time you fire the shutter. Follow the dogs. Just my opinion. |

Get a really long telephoto!! Don't, whatever you do try running to keep up with the action, and definitely don't overtake the dog!!
Try panning. Practice a few times while they are warming up.
