I am looking at upgrading to a Rebel XT and would like to know where I should get one. SHould I go with Best Buy/Circuit City (around 999.00 with lens kit) or an online camera store and which ones are the reputable ones with high recommendations and good service and etc?
I see the Rebel XT as low as $860.00 at a .com store but is it worth the savings in warranty and service?

Thank you.

hmm not sure I had the same problem when I brought mine. I keep comparing prices at the store and .coms then I did alot of research, reading and comparing prices on ebay. I finally decided to buy mine from ebay cause I got alot more for my money. So I took the chance and it worked out great, very happy in the end.

Dell will sometimes run a special. I got mine with the kit lens last month for $790 shipped. Warranty and all.

I got mine at BeachCamera.com and it came with the Canon Warranty card for the lens and the body.

They don't charge tax, and they have great customer service.

DONT GO TO bestpricecameras.com they're scam artists.

you can always go to ResellerRatings.com to get a review on a .com store.

Their next day service IS next day service.

I bought my 300d(tx was not out :( ) a Ultimate electronics with the extended warrenty through them, Cost me way more money that way but after canon warrenty runs out if my camera bites it They have to fix it or replace it so all depends on how you feel about how long the camera will last

How does $659 (no lens) sound?

Slickdealz has coupons listed for Dell good until 9-15.

Keep an eye on B&H's used equipment section. The guy there said they've been getting tons of 300Ds, 350Ds and D70s. There was just a 350D kit for $750; I checked it out at the store and it was in perfect condition (unfortunately sold sometime between yesterday and today).

Of course, if you're like me, you probably want to buy electronics new in box.
