Give a break and go play on some other thread where the track has strayed from the OP far beyond what this one here has. This is still related to the OP.

Escuse me? You can talk about selective desat all you want...but in the last 15 posts or so I have not seen any talk about the original post which was
"Post your comments, questions, and reviews for...
'Selective Desaturation Within the Basic Editing Rules'
by Konador
View this tutorial here."
THIS thread isn't about discussing selective desat...it's about discussing the tutorial. Someone else started a thread this morning discussing selective desat.
I'm not locking things, I'm not hiding things...simply asking to keep the discussion about the tutorial and not one specific image.
You do not have to be rude. |

And you don't have to be so constrictive. The subject will turn from one specific image in its own course as they always do in these threads. And 15? I think you exagerate a bit. We are discussing the accepted methods, both legally and aestetically of using SD and the image was thrown in as an example.
When someone comes in and hi-jacks a thread I've started nobody comes in and says jack to put it back on track. You all just lock the thing. If you don't like my posts delete them.

Wow, I started reading this thread today to learn about selective desat, since I readily admit to being a lowly, inexperienced registered user who happens to be uber-curious about the art of photography.
I was looking forward to studying something that actually had to do with this website so that I would feel prompted to join in more challenges. The popularity contests and tennis-match-arguing have run rampant through more threads that I've read this week, than since I joined the site this year.
Thanks to Konador for posting something that will help me utilize a new style, should I choose to use it.
I will say that I have to agree 100% with the above post. I am in no way involved in these he-said/she-said 1-up-manships that I've seen lately, so you all can rest assured that my opinion on the strained attempts to communicate without all-out contempt is unbiased.
Ok. Now I'm off to do what I originally intended regarding this thread. And that is simply to read the content offered to Novice Me and hopefully learn.
Beth
Edit: Tried to quote previous post but failed. Again with the 'novice' title. *sigh* Off to play in PS!

I am working with paint shop pro 8 here, but this was still a great help in learning how to work with SD. I had never done it before.
Thanks for helping me learn something new.

Having realized that the tutorial section might have something on desaturation, and then discovered this whilst preparing for a challenge, I'd just like to express my utmost gratitude to you for making this easy and fun. I don't know how my entry will do.....there are a ton of entries....but I'm delighted with the results, and it's thanks to you!

Some people may be tired of Selective Desaturation, but check your front page. Yanko just won a "red ribbon" using SD in his Cultural Events submission. |
