Is it just me or does the Canon 350D drain battery packs considerably faster when either FocusAI or FocusServo are used, compared to One Shot? I noticed very short battery life twice: once when I was shooting a soccer game, and once in the zoo, that is, with subjects that move a lot.

it depends on the lens. Certain lenses require more juice to focus, so if you're shooting on servo with a bulky lens, then that is definitely a factor in the batteries draining quicker.

edit: having just looked at your profile, and seeing what you are using, usm lenses as far as I know are not real battery drainers, so maybe a bad battery pack?

Have some fun for a minute and see for yourself:
Put the kit lens on, set in servo mode, set focal length about midway, press the shutter halfway down and then point the camera all over, close up and far, and watch the front lens element go to town.
Yeah, it takes a little juice to be that active.

That's what I thought. I didn't expect the pack to drain that fast though. Usually I can take around 500 shots before it's empty, but for the soccer game, I had to put on the battery grip with normal batteries after only +-80 shots.
I've only had this problem with the 55-200mm so far, but I guess that's because I use it for a different kind of photography.
