Just got back from my first Burning Man. Wow.

I somehow captured this photo - I like it, but I don't know how it would look to somebody out of the Burning Man context. Maybe it's too abstract?

Holy cats buddy. That's a neat picture! I wonder if you could do something with curves though to bring that background to a sharper snap. Also, did you shoot at ISO 1600? Have you tried shooting fire at ISO 200 (that's the lowest on a D70 right?)?

You might find that decreasing the sensitivity of the sensor will allow you to take longer exposures with much less noise. If you want to shoot long exposures, it's usually a good idea to use ISO 50.
