Okay, this might be a stupid question to some...but...
Can a photograph that captures more than just the face (i.e. the whole body) be considered a portrait? Or is a portrait just a close up of a person's face?

yes, you can do full body portraits.

For that matter, a portrait dosn't have to have the face, if it reperasents the person well..
But I wouldn't be trying that on with the voters here, the'll hang you out to dry. :-).
