Does anyone subscribe to either one of these publications? What do you think? I'm trying to decide which photography magazine to subscribe to, and have it narrowed down to these two. Any thoughts comparing to two? If you had to pick one, which would it be?
Thanks!

I had LensWork for a while ... I liked it, but not enough to continue the subscription. Going from memory, I don't think it's a teaching magazine, rather it has feature photographers with bits of thier portfolio (usually very high quality work, but I often found the subject matter a bit boring).
The editor dude writes very good articles in it ... forgot his name. |

Lenswork is superb, far and away the best photographic publication going. The editor is Brooks Jensen, he puts some of his random thoughts on an audio blog from time to time. Hunt around the Lenswork site and download a few. www.lenswork.com (surprise surprise!)

I've subscribed to LensWork for over 2 years. For my interests, it's the best magazine out there - no tear out ad/subscription cards between every other page, and very focused on the topics. The b&w images are absolutely stunning!
hopper, I believe you're refering to Bill Jay. He writes excellent articles. |

I haven't seen Camera Arts but I like Lenswork very much. It really focuses on the Art part of photography, a real fresh breath of air after arguing about pixels online. All the photos are stunning, and the print is impeccable.

I get Camera Arts, View Camera, and Lenswork. Lenswork is my favorite, probably over any other! It's a very focused magazine, that definitely helps influence art over pictures. :) |
